TikTok Creator Search Insights for SEO: Turn Content Gaps Into Website Traffic (2026)

TikTok has a keyword tool, and almost nobody outside TikTok uses it for a website. Creator Search Insights lists what people search for on the app, and its content gap filter shows the searches that have far more demand than videos. Tim The SEO Guru's argument is that those searches do not stay on TikTok: the same people type them into Google and AI assistants, where the gap is often just as empty. This is his three-step workflow, from the phone screen to a published page, with the screens and the places where the claims outrun the evidence.

What Creator Search Insights is

Two TikTok phone screens: the Creator Search Insights landing page with Content gap and Trending filters, and the Content gap list showing Best Outfits For Men 209K up 65 percent, soft launch challenge 250K, miami club dress code 244K, Wall Art Ideas 198K up 236 percent, handmade small business 297K up 1000 percent, ArtDrawing 309K
Left: search "Creator Search Insights" in the TikTok app and tap View. Right: the Content gap filter, with the search counts and trend arrows TikTok shows next to each topic.

You reach it from the app's search bar: type "Creator Search Insights", open the card, tap View. TikTok introduced it in March 2024 as a way for creators to see which topics people search for, with a content gap filter for topics that get many searches but relatively few videos, plus a trending view. The landing screen shows broad suggestions such as motivational videos at 4.04M searches; the content gap list is where the usable ideas sit.

On Tim's screen the content gap list reads: Best Outfits For Men, 209K, up 65%. Soft launch challenge, 250K, up 116.9%. Miami club dress code, 244K, up 124%. Wall Art Ideas, 198K, up 236.2%. 2026 easy TikTok dances, 91.3K. Aesthetic medicine, 143K. Handmade small business, 297K, up more than 1000%. GymFitness, 273K. ArtDrawing, 309K, up 57.8%. Tim's rule for reading it: the more you use TikTok in your niche, the more the list bends toward your niche, and the trending tab is good for news hooks while the gap tab is where demand exceeds supply.

The site Tim says it works on

Ahrefs overview, changes over the last six months: AI Overviews 1.1K up 709, ChatGPT 9, Gemini 130, Perplexity 63, Copilot 11, Grok 307; DR 61 up 11; backlinks 48.4K up 42K; referring domains 3.4K up 2.6K; organic keywords 9.8K up 5.6K; organic traffic 42.8K up 34.9K
The Ahrefs overview of the site Tim says the workflow runs on. Six-month changes: organic traffic up 34.9K to 42.8K, backlinks up 42K to 48.4K, AI Overview citations up 709.

Tim opens Ahrefs on a site he says his team runs the strategy for and calls the growth undeniable. The numbers on screen support growth: 42.8K organic visits a month, up 34.9K in six months; 9.8K organic keywords, up 5.6K; 1.3K keywords in the top three; DR 61, up 11; AI Overview citations at 1.1K, up 709. Two things the screen cannot show. The domain is cropped out, so none of this can be checked. And the same six months added 42K backlinks and 2.6K referring domains, so whatever TikTok contributed, it was not working alone.

Ahrefs traffic by location: United States 25.6K at 59.7 percent, Canada 6.9K, Nigeria 2.5K, India 1.8K, Pakistan 1.7K; organic keywords by intent: branded 273 keywords and 1.3K traffic, non-branded 9.5K keywords and 41.5K traffic
Where the traffic comes from: 59.7% United States, 16.1% Canada, then Nigeria, India and Pakistan. Almost all of it is non-branded.

The location panel is worth a look before copying the playbook: 59.7% of the traffic is American and 16.1% Canadian, and non-branded keywords carry 41.5K of the 42.8K visits, which is what a content-led site looks like. The remaining share from Nigeria, India and Pakistan is the kind of detail to check against conversions, not just visits.

Step 1: pick gaps that match your money pages

Tim's whiteboard sketch: a homepage box at the top, a money page box marked with a dollar sign, a supporting content page beneath it, and arrows linking the content to the money page and back
Tim's sketch: homepage, money page with the dollar sign, supporting content underneath, arrows both ways.

The gap topics are seeds, not finished keywords. Tim's example is apparel: "best outfits for men" becomes best casual outfits for men, best dinner party outfits for men, best house party outfits for men. "Wall art ideas" becomes wall art ideas for a new home, for autumn, for Halloween. One gap topic turns into a cluster, the way seed keywords work anywhere else, and only the ones that lead somewhere on your site are worth writing.

That is the point of the sketch. Each article links to the service or product page it supports, and the money page links back to the article, so a reader who arrives through a gap topic has a next step: book the consultation, buy the outfit, call the plumber. If the money page for a topic does not exist yet, build it before the article. Internal linking is what turns a traffic page into a revenue page.

Step 2: write the article the gap is missing

Arvow article editor showing Best Outfits for Men with Key Takeaways, a section titled Casual everyday outfit with a T-shirt and jeans, an internal link on outfit inspiration, and a Details panel with focus keyword men outfits, a meta description and a featured image
The generated article in a demo project: takeaways first, numbered outfits, an internal link in the body, and the focus keyword, meta description and featured image already filled in.

Tim generates the page in Arvow with the title "Best Outfits for Men" and the keyword "men outfits", added through the SEO keywords dialog, and shows the result a minute or two later: key takeaways at the top, numbered outfit sections, images, an internal link, the focus keyword, meta description and featured image set in the side panel. His case for a dedicated tool over pasting from a chatbot is that the chatbot does not know your brand and leaves the technical SEO to you.

Arvow Upload Knowledge dialog with three options: File to upload PDFs or documents, URL to add a website page for extraction, and Text to paste notes or markdown
The knowledge base takes files, URLs or pasted text, which is what makes the generated page sound like the business.

The brand part comes from the knowledge base, which takes files, URLs and pasted text such as case studies and product details, and from the sitemap, which the writer uses to place internal links to existing pages. Two cautions. The demo project on screen is a chiropractic site generating a menswear article, so treat it as a demo of the mechanics, not a case study. And Tim's warning that copied chatbot text carries watermarks and gets sites de-indexed overstates Google's position, which is about whether a page adds value, as the commodity content guide lays out.

Step 3: turn the same topic into news and video pages

Arvow Add News Article dialog with search query mens outfits and three live stories: Louis Vuitton showing Virgil Abloh's final collection, footballers' outfits at the Ballon d'Or red carpet, and Aaron Rodgers in a Peaky Blinders-inspired outfit
The news route: search the topic, pick from live stories, and each story becomes a separate article on your site.

The same gap topic can feed a news article. Searching "mens outfits" in the news dialog returned three live stories, from a Louis Vuitton show to a Ballon d'Or red carpet, each of which becomes a separate rewritten piece with sources and the brand's own assets. Set as an autoblog, the topic posts daily or weekly without further input, the setup described in how to add an automated news section.

YouTube search results for best mens outfits: Never Struggle To Put An Outfit Together Again Timeless Wardrobe by Brandon Balfour with 1.3M views, a sponsored Stitch Fix result, and The ONLY 16 Items You Need For a Perfect Casual Wardrobe with 194K views
The long-form route: a YouTube search for the topic surfaces a 1.3M-view wardrobe video, which becomes the source for an embedded-video article.
Arvow article Never Struggle To Put An Outfit Together Again Timeless Wardrobe with the YouTube video embedded at the top, key takeaways and a section What makes a wardrobe timeless, plus a meta description and featured image in the Details panel
The result: the video embedded at the top, takeaways and sections written from it, meta description and featured image set.

The third route is long-form video. A YouTube search for "best mens outfits" turns up a wardrobe video with 1.3M views; paste its link into the YouTube-to-blog template and the generator embeds the video and writes the article around it. Tim's position is that embedding someone else's video is fine because the embed credits the creator, and that the page still makes the site more useful for the search. It is still another creator's work carrying your page, so use the YouTube to blog post route for videos you own or have cleared where you can, and add your own commentary where you cannot.

Arvow Create Destination dialog listing WordPress Plugin, Blogger, Ghost, Shopify, Webflow, Framer, HighLevel, Wix, Zapier, Squarespace, Lovable, Webhook and a custom API
Publishing: a destination connects the site, from WordPress and Shopify to Webflow, Wix and a webhook, so generated pages post without copying.

What the video does not prove

Three gaps between the claim and the screen. The traffic chart belongs to an unnamed site, so "the growth has been undeniable" cannot be attributed to TikTok ideas rather than to the 42K backlinks added in the same period. The TikTok counts are TikTok searches, not Google searches; Tim's inference that people take the same queries to Google and AI assistants is plausible and was not tested on screen. And the generated examples live in a demo project, so no ranking for "best outfits for men" was shown. What the video does show is a cheap, fast idea source that most keyword tools do not have, and a path from idea to published page that takes minutes.

A fair way to use it: pull ten gap topics in your niche, check each against Google autocomplete and a keyword tool, keep the ones with a money page to point at, and write those. Low competition keywords and Reddit threads are the sister sources; TikTok is the one with the trend arrows.

FAQ

Do I need a TikTok following to use Creator Search Insights?

No. It is inside the app's search, not a creator dashboard, and shows aggregate searches. Tim notes the suggestions get more relevant to your niche the more you use TikTok in it.

Is a TikTok content gap the same as a Google keyword gap?

No. It measures TikTok searches against TikTok videos. Treat it as a demand signal and confirm the query exists on Google before writing, especially for topics tied to TikTok formats such as dances and challenges.

Can I rank a page built from someone else's YouTube video?

Pages with an embedded video and original commentary can rank, but the video remains the creator's. Prefer videos you own or have permission for, and write the surrounding article so the page adds something the video does not.
