Link Building Software: 12 Tools by Job (2026)

Link building software is any tool that does one of the five jobs in a link campaign: find sites worth a link, find the person to ask, send and track the ask, place the link, and check that the link is still there. No single product does all five well. This comparison sorts 12 tools by the job they do, with the price each vendor showed on its own pricing page on 7 November 2026, so you can buy for the step that is actually slow in your process.

Four vendors showed their prices in euros because the pages were checked from Europe. Prices change: check the linked pricing page before you buy.

These tools end with a live link and nobody on your side writes an email. The section on Google's policy below applies to all four.

Arvow is an AI SEO platform that writes and publishes articles to its users' sites. Its Automatic Backlinks, Arvow's backlink exchange, is described in the help article: a new project joins the backlink network by default, and links to your site are placed inside articles that other Arvow users publish on related topics. Every account gets one backlink a day included, counted per account rather than per project, and additional backlinks cost 15 credits each. You can cap backlinks per day for a project, choose Relevance or Volume, and block NSFW sources. The pricing page lists Automatic Backlinks on the Business plan, from $69 a month billed yearly. Limits: links come only from other Arvow users' sites, so the pool depends on who publishes in your niche, and the settings are preferences, not a site-by-site approval list.

RankPill is an autoblogging product with a built-in exchange. According to its backlink exchange page, each article you publish carries a partner link and yours lands in theirs, an AI pass picks the partner whose niche fits your topic, you can set a minimum domain rating for the sites that may link to you, and a background job checks that every promised link exists and is dofollow. The pricing page lists RankPill at $99 a month per website and RankPill Plus at $199, each with 30 articles a month, so the exchange is part of a content subscription, not a standalone link tool.

3. LinkDR

LinkDR sells managed placements. Its pricing page quotes one all-in price per live link: $160 for DR 30+ sites, $280 for DR 40+, $400 for DR 50+ and $500 for DR 60+, with 15 percent off on a monthly campaign. Each placement includes publisher research and outreach, a 600 to 800 word article written for the site and the publisher fee; a link that is not live within 60 days is refunded, and a link removed within 12 months is replaced. Most links go live in three to four weeks.

4. Respona

Respona has moved from outreach software to pay-per-result placements. Its pricing page lists $100 per placement on DR 20+ publishers, $160 on DR 30+, $240 on DR 40+, $400 on DR 50+ and $500 on DR 60+, with a 28-day turnaround by default and 14 days as an express option. You can stay hands-off or pre-approve every domain, and you can ask for specific formats such as listicles.

Distribb runs a similar exchange for its own members, 3 to 5 links a month on its $97 Pro plan. It is covered in our comparison of automatic backlink software and left out here so that one exchange stands for the model.

Job 2: send the outreach

Outreach platforms automate the pitch, the follow-up and the tracking. The yes still comes from a person, and the reply rate depends on your list and your offer, not the software.

5. Pitchbox

Pitchbox is the heavier outreach platform. Its pricing page lists Pro at $210 a month billed annually or $300 billed monthly, with 2 users, 2 email accounts, 2,000 outreach emails and 1,000 prospecting searches a month; Advanced at $420 or $600 with unlimited users and 5,000 emails; and Scale at $825 or $1,200 with 25,000 emails. Every plan includes an email finder and verifier, AI personalization, a CRM and link monitoring.

6. BuzzStream

BuzzStream's plans page lists Starter at $49 a month for one user and 500 contacts, Growth at $174 for three users and 25,000 contacts, Professional at $424 for six users, 100,000 contacts and API access, and custom plans from $999. Link monitoring is in every plan; bulk sending, automated follow-ups and the Ahrefs integration start at Growth. Plans are monthly with no minimum term.

7. Linkee

Linkee leans on AI for the prospecting side: an AI website qualifier, an AI email finder and verifier, Ahrefs metrics on prospects and automated sequences. Its pricing page shows Essential at $80.83 a month, Pro at $164.17 and Agency at $298.33 with the yearly toggle on, with 10,000, 25,000 and 60,000 credits a month, and a 14-day trial with 500 credits.

Job 3: find the contact

8. Hunter

Hunter finds and verifies email addresses for a domain and now bundles sequences. Its pricing page shows a free plan with 50 credits a month, then Starter at 34 euros a month billed yearly (408 euros a year) with 2,000 credits a month, Growth at 104 euros with 10,000 credits and Scale at 209 euros with 25,000 credits. One credit buys one email found and half a credit one verification.

Job 4: find the prospects

9. Ahrefs

Ahrefs' pricing page lists Lite at 119 euros a month, Standard at 229 euros and Advanced at 419 euros, with a saving of up to 17 percent for paying annually. Site Explorer, which shows any domain's backlinks and referring domains, is in every plan, as is API and MCP access; Content Explorer, broken backlinks and broken links reports start at Standard.

10. Semrush

Semrush's link building page describes Backlinks with data updated daily, Referring Domains, Backlink Gap for domains linking to competitors but not to you, and Backlink Audit for generating a disavow file. Its pricing page lists the SEO plan at 112.52 euros a month billed annually or 134 euros monthly, Starter at 158.40 or 190 euros, and Pro+ at 238 or 286 euros.

11. Linkody

Linkody only monitors. Its plans page starts with the Webmaster plan at 13.90 euros a month for two monitored websites, 500 monitored links and one user, with competitor links counted free. If you buy placements by the link, this is the cheapest way to know when one disappears.

12. Google Search Console

You already have a monitor. The Links report shows your top linking sites, top linked pages and link text. Google's own notes: pages are grouped by canonical URL, duplicate links are combined, tables stop at 1,000 rows, and the report is a sample rather than a complete list. It is free, and it is the data Google itself has.

Google's spam policies define link spam as creating links primarily to manipulate rankings. The examples include buying or selling links for ranking purposes, "excessive link exchanges", and "using automated programs or services to create links to your site". Research suites, contact finders, outreach platforms and monitors help you ask, and a site owner still decides. Paid placements and exchanges sit closer to the line, which is why the four placement tools above all describe editorial placement inside real articles rather than footers or link pages. Read the policy before you pick one, and keep anchor text natural.

  • You publish regularly and want links without a second workflow: Arvow Automatic Backlinks or RankPill, because the link comes with the content you already produce.
  • You want a fixed number of links on sites above a DR floor: LinkDR or Respona, priced per link.
  • You have a link builder and a target list: Pitchbox for a team, BuzzStream for one or three seats, Linkee if prospect qualification is the slow part.
  • You only need the email address: Hunter's free plan, then Starter.
  • You need the list before anything else: Ahrefs or Semrush, whichever you already pay for.
  • You buy links elsewhere and want to know when they vanish: Linkody, with the Search Console Links report as the free baseline.

FAQ

Software that does one of the five jobs in a link campaign: finding prospects (Ahrefs, Semrush), finding contacts (Hunter), sending outreach (Pitchbox, BuzzStream, Linkee), placing links (Arvow, RankPill, LinkDR, Respona) or monitoring links (Linkody, Search Console).

It depends on which job is slow for you. If you have no prospect list, a research suite. If you have the list and no replies, an outreach platform. If you have neither the time nor the team, a placement tool priced per link or included with your content subscription.

On the vendor pages checked on 7 November 2026: monitors from 13.90 euros a month (Linkody), contact finders from free (Hunter), outreach platforms from $49 a month (BuzzStream) to $1,200 a month (Pitchbox Scale billed monthly), research suites from 112.52 euros a month (Semrush, billed annually), placements from $100 to $500 per link (Respona, LinkDR), and exchanges included with a content plan from $69 a month billed yearly (Arvow) or $99 a month per website (RankPill).

Not as a category. Google's spam policy targets links created to manipulate rankings, and names automated link creation, bought links and excessive exchanges as examples. Tools that help you research, ask and track are fine; placement tools are judged on what they place.

Want links placed inside real articles while you publish? Arvow's Automatic Backlinks is on by default for every project, with one backlink a day included.
