Automated Link Building Tools: 10 Compared by What They Actually Automate (2026)
Automated link building tools do not all automate the same thing. Some automate the research, some automate the email, and a few place the link for you with no email at all. This guide compares 10 automated link building tools by the step they take off your hands and the step they leave with you, with prices read from each vendor's own pages on November 5, 2026.
What automated link building actually covers
Every link campaign has the same five steps. A tool that calls itself automated covers some of them, rarely all.
- Find prospects: the sites and pages that could link to you.
- Find contacts: the person who can add the link, and an email address that works.
- Pitch and follow up: personalised emails, sent and chased on a schedule.
- Get the link placed: someone edits a page or publishes an article with your link in it.
- Check the link: confirm it is live, and still there next month.
Outreach software automates steps one to three and stops at the yes: a site owner still has to agree. Placement networks skip the first three steps and automate the fourth. Managed services cover all five, by hand on their side, and bill you per link.

Placement networks: the link is placed, nobody is pitched
1. Arvow Automatic Backlinks
Arvow is an AI SEO platform that writes and publishes articles to its users' sites. Arvow's Automatic Backlinks, its backlink exchange, needs no setup: according to the help article, a new project joins the backlink network by default, and links to your site are placed inside articles that other Arvow users publish on related topics. Every account gets one backlink a day included, per account rather than per project, and each additional backlink costs 15 credits. You can cap backlinks per day, choose Relevance or Volume, and block NSFW sources. The pricing page lists Automatic Backlinks on the Business plan, from $69 a month billed yearly. Limits: links come only from other Arvow users' sites, so the pool depends on who publishes in your niche; the included pace is one link a day for the whole account; and the settings in the help article are preferences, not a site-by-site approval list.
2. RankPill Backlink Exchange
RankPill ties the exchange to publishing: each article you publish through RankPill carries a link to a partner in your niche, and your link lands in one of theirs. You set a minimum domain rating, and a background job confirms every link is live and dofollow before it counts. Each earned link costs credits equal to the linking site's domain rating. Its FAQ says a site publishing daily can build 20 to 30 backlinks a month. The exchange page shows no price.
3. Distribb Backlink Exchange
Distribb puts a number on it: 3 to 5 contextual backlinks received a month, and up to 5 given from your own Distribb articles. It runs what it calls an ABC exchange, so no two sites swap links directly. The exchange is included in the Pro plan at $97 a month, with no per-link fees.
Outreach automation: the pitch is automatic, the yes is not
4. Pitchbox
Pitchbox calls itself an AI outreach platform for link building. Give it a topic, keywords or competitors' sites and it returns prospects with contact data, then personalises and sends the emails. The pricing page lists an AI reply agent and link monitoring on every plan: Pro at $300 a month (2,000 outreach emails), Advanced at $600 (5,000) and Scale at $1,200 (25,000), billed monthly on a one-year term, or 30% less billed annually.
5. BuzzStream
BuzzStream is an outreach CRM for digital PR and link building. Its ListIQ product builds media lists from news search and finds contact details. On the plans page, Starter is $49 a month for one user with 500 contacts. Bulk sending and automated follow-ups start on Growth at $174 a month for three users, Professional is $424, and custom plans start at $999. If you buy it for the automation, Growth is the real entry price.
6. Linkee
Linkee describes itself as AI link building automation software. You choose a guest post or niche edit campaign, import a prospect list from Ahrefs or Semrush or use Linkee's own database, and it vets each site for relevance and quality, finds verified emails, sends the outreach and schedules follow-ups. Its pricing page starts at $80.83 a month for 10,000 credits, one project and three linked email accounts, rising to $164.17 and $298.33.
7. Hunter
Hunter automates one step well: contacts. Domain Search lists the email addresses at a company, Email Finder and Email Verifier handle a single person, and Sequences sends the cold emails. It starts from a domain you already picked. The free plan includes 50 credits a month, with one credit per email found and half a credit per verification.
8. Semrush Link Building Tool
If you already pay for Semrush, the link building tools in its SEO Toolkit cover research and a first email: you research competitors' backlinks, start an email outreach campaign to those sites, and audit the links you already have. It is a convenience for subscribers, not a reason to subscribe.
Managed placements: automated for you, manual for them
9. Respona
Respona built its name on outreach software, and its link building software page still describes that workflow. The homepage now leads with done-for-you placements. The pricing page is pay per result: $100 a placement on DR 20+ publishers, $160 on DR 30+, $240 on DR 40+, $400 on DR 50+ and $500 on DR 60+. Turnaround is 28 days, or 14 for a fee, and discounts start at 10% from $3,000 a month.
10. LinkDR
LinkDR is a managed service with one price per live link: $160 for DR 30+, $280 for DR 40+, $400 for DR 50+ and $500 for DR 60+, or 15% less on a monthly plan. You pick the target page and tier; its team does the rest. The site promises a live link in 3 to 4 weeks or a refund at 60 days, and a free replacement if a link is removed within 12 months.
One tool we left out: LinkHunter
LinkHunter's homepage still shows plans and a trial button. Its not-found page carries a notice announcing that the product has shut down: Google retired the num=100 search parameter its prospect finder depended on, which cut the prospects it could find by 90%. Before you pay for any prospecting tool that reads search results, check that it still works.
What Google says about automated links
Google's spam policies define link spam as creating links "primarily for the purpose of manipulating search rankings", and the examples include "using automated programs or services to create links to your site" and excessive link exchanges. None of the ten tools above is a submission bot. The outreach tools automate research and email, and an editor still decides whether to link. The networks and managed services place links inside articles on real sites, matched by topic. Whichever you use, read the policy yourself and keep relevance tight and volume modest. FAQ
What is automated link building?
Automated link building is software or a service doing one or more of the five steps for you: finding prospects, finding contacts, sending and chasing the pitch, getting the link placed, and checking it stays live.
What are the best automated link building tools?
It depends on the step you want gone. If you publish regularly and want links without a second workflow: Arvow Automatic Backlinks, RankPill and Distribb. If you have a link builder and a target list: Pitchbox, BuzzStream or Linkee. If you only need contacts: Hunter. If you want a fixed price per link: Respona or LinkDR.
Can link building be fully automated?
Only in a placement network or a managed service. With outreach software the emails are automatic, but a site owner still has to say yes, so the result is never guaranteed.
How much do automated link building tools cost?
On the vendors' pages in November 2026: outreach software runs from $49 a month (BuzzStream Starter) to $1,200 a month (Pitchbox Scale), managed placements cost $100 to $500 a link, and Arvow lists Automatic Backlinks on its Business plan, from $69 a month billed yearly, with one backlink a day included.
