Automatic Backlink Software: 11 Tools That Build Backlinks for You, Compared (2026)
Yes, there is software that builds backlinks automatically, but "automatically" means four different things: networks that place links inside other members' articles, managed services that charge per live link, outreach platforms that automate the pitching but not the yes, and submission bots that Google's spam policy names directly. This guide sorts 11 automatic backlink tools by what they actually automate, with prices from each vendor's own pages in November 2026.
Four kinds of automatic backlink software
Decide which kind you want before comparing tools, because the word "automatic" hides the difference.
- Placement networks. Your site joins a network of blogs publishing through one platform; when a member publishes a related article, the platform inserts a link to you. Nobody pitches or approves anything by hand. Arvow, RankPill and Distribb.
- Managed placements. You pay per live link; the vendor's team finds the site, negotiates, writes and pays the publisher. LinkDR and Respona.
- Outreach automation. Software finds prospects, pulls contacts, sends sequences and chases replies; the link exists only if the site owner agrees. Linkee, Pitchbox, BuzzStream and Semrush's Link Building Tool.
- Submission bots and generators. ListingBott submits you to directories, GSA Search Engine Ranker posts to article sites, forums and wikis, free generators ping profile pages. Fast, cheap, and that is the problem.

Placement networks: links without outreach
1. Arvow Automatic Backlinks
Arvow is an AI SEO platform that writes and publishes articles for its users' sites. Its Automatic Backlinks feature is on by default for every project: your site joins the Arvow network, and when other members publish articles related to your topic, a link to your site is placed inside their content. According to the help article, every account gets one backlink a day included, shared across its projects, and extra backlinks cost 15 credits each. You can cap backlinks per day, keep them to closely related articles or accept a wider set for volume, and block adult or gambling sources. The feature is listed on the Business plan, from $69 a month billed yearly, on arvow.com/pricing. Limits: links come from other Arvow users' blogs, so the pool depends on who publishes in your niche, and the pace is one a day unless you spend credits.
What that looks like on a real site. We run the feature on arvow.com. On November 5, 2026 the dashboard showed 250 backlinks from 122 different sites, pointing at 99 different pages, with 21 of them earned in the last month. Nobody sent an email for any of them.
Here are eight of the strongest linking sites from the last three months, with the domains hidden. The Domain Rating is the one the dashboard shows, from Ahrefs.
| Link placed | Anchor text | Linking site's DR |
|---|---|---|
| Aug 12 | Webflow SEO guide | 60 |
| Nov 5 | blog content calendar | 47 |
| Oct 17 | Rankability | 46 |
| Aug 18 | local SEO guide | 43 |
| Sep 29 | DIY SEO checklist | 39 |
| Nov 2 | SEO expert | 36 |
| Sep 30 | Arvow | 33 |
| Nov 2 | small-business SEO checklist | 32 |
Each of the eight is a live business site with organic search traffic of its own, checked in Ahrefs. On cost: 21 links in a month works out to about $3 a link on yearly billing and about $8 on monthly billing, even if you count the whole plan as link cost. The earlier numbers, from May, are in the case study.
2. RankPill Backlink Exchange
RankPill runs the same model for sites that publish through RankPill. Each article you publish includes an AI-matched link to a partner site in your niche, and a partner's link is placed in one of your articles in return. Links sit inside full-length articles, a background job verifies that each one is live and dofollow, you can set a minimum DR for sites allowed to link to you, and each earned link costs credits equal to the referring site's DR. Its FAQ puts the pace at one link in and one out per published article, "so a daily-publishing site can build 20-30 backlinks per month". No price is shown on the exchange page.
3. Distribb Backlink Exchange
Distribb is an AI SEO tool with an exchange for its members. Turn it on and each month other members in your industry link to you from their articles while you link out from up to five of your own Distribb articles. The page lists 3 to 5 backlinks received a month, says no two sites trade links directly, and enforces a three-month delay before a reverse path can open. It is included in the Pro plan at $97 a month, and you need to publish at least five Distribb articles a month.
Managed placements: automatic for you, manual for them
4. LinkDR
LinkDR describes itself as a managed backlink building service for Google and AI search: "We find the sites, pitch the editors, write and pay." You pick a DR tier and pay per live link: DR 30+ at $160, DR 40+ at $280, DR 50+ at $400 and DR 60+ at $500, with monthly plans 15% off. Links go live in 3 to 4 weeks or your money back at 60 days, and removed links are replaced for 12 months. The automation is on their side; for you it is an order form.
5. Respona
Respona used to sell outreach software and now sells done-for-you placements under the line "Get authority on autopilot". Its pricing page lists placements by publisher DR: Starter at $100 (DR 20+), Standard at $160 (DR 30+), Authority at $240 (DR 40+), Power at $400 (DR 50+) and Elite at $500 (DR 60+), with volume discounts from $3,000 a month of spend and 28-day delivery (14 days for a fee).
Outreach automation: the pitching is automatic, the yes is not
6. Linkee
Linkee calls itself AI link building automation software. It finds sites relevant to a keyword, vets each prospect, finds and verifies contact emails, sends the outreach and schedules follow-ups. Its pricing page lists plans from $80.83 a month (10,000 credits, one project) to $298.33 a month for agencies, and a 14-day trial with 500 credits. It does not place links; it gets your email in front of the people who can.
7. Pitchbox
Pitchbox is the agency-scale version: prospecting searches, an email finder, multi-step sequences, out-of-office detection and client reporting. Plans are Pro at $300 a month (2,000 outreach emails), Advanced at $600 (5,000) and Scale at $1,200 (25,000), all on a one-year commitment, 30% off billed annually.
8. BuzzStream
BuzzStream is outreach plus a CRM: ListIQ builds prospect lists from news search and finds contact details, you send personalised emails at scale, and the database tracks every conversation and placement so a team never pitches the same editor twice. It also monitors the links you win. Its plans page lists Starter at $49 a month, Growth at $174 and Professional at $424, with custom plans from $999.
9. Semrush Link Building Tool
If you already pay for Semrush, its Link Building Tool turns competitor backlink research into an outreach campaign inside the SEO Toolkit: you research the sites linking to competitors, start an email outreach campaign to them, and audit the links you already have. It is a convenience for Semrush subscribers rather than a reason to subscribe.
Submission bots and generators: fast, cheap, and what Google warns about
10. ListingBott
ListingBott gets a business listed on 100+ directories from a database of 10k+, with a human team publishing the listings over about a month and a report at the end. Prices on its page run from $299 for early users to $999 after beta per website, plus a $99 option for 20 directories a month. Directory listings are a reasonable foundation for a new site, not editorial links.
11. GSA Search Engine Ranker
GSA Search Engine Ranker is the classic automatic backlink software: a $127 lifetime licence for a desktop program that finds article directories, Web 2.0 sites, forums and wikis, spins content, solves CAPTCHAs through 30+ services and submits links around the clock. It is what Google's spam policies call "using automated programs or services to create links to your site". Use it only on a site you can afford to lose.
Free backlink generators
DupliChecker's Backlink Maker, SmallSEOTools, Vefogix and similar one-click tools submit your URL to directories, profile platforms and submission sites, roughly 30 to 60 links per run according to this comparison, many of them nofollow. Its own conclusion is that "directory and profile links are foundational, not sufficient". They cost nothing, and the effect is close to nothing.
What Google allows
Google's spam policies define link spam as creating links "primarily for the purpose of manipulating search rankings" and list "using automated programs or services to create links to your site" and "excessive link exchanges" among the examples. Judge a tool by where the link ends up, not by how it got there.
How to choose
- You publish regularly and want links without a second workflow: a placement network: Arvow if you already use it for content, RankPill or Distribb if you use theirs. A steady trickle, not a spike.
- You need specific high-DR links and have budget: LinkDR or Respona, priced per link, so a page-one push has a forecastable cost.
- You have a team and a list of targets: Pitchbox or BuzzStream for scale, Linkee for a smaller budget, Semrush's tool if you already pay for Semrush.
- You are launching a new site: ListingBott-style directory submissions once, then one of the above. Skip GSA and the free generators.
FAQ
Is there a tool that builds backlinks automatically?
Yes. Placement networks such as Arvow's Automatic Backlinks and the RankPill and Distribb exchanges insert links to your site inside other members' articles with no outreach from you. Managed services such as LinkDR and Respona automate the work on their side and charge per live link. Outreach tools automate the pitching but still need a site owner to agree.
How many backlinks can automatic backlink software build per month?
Published figures: Arvow includes one backlink a day per account and sells more for 15 credits each; RankPill says a daily-publishing site can build 20 to 30 a month; Distribb lists 3 to 5 a month. Managed services deliver whatever you order, at $100 to $500 a link. On arvow.com the network had placed 250 links from 122 sites by November 2026, 21 of them in the last month.
Are automatic backlinks safe?
The networks and managed services above place links inside articles on real sites and filter by topic. The submission bots and free generators do what Google's link spam policy describes, so treat them as a risk rather than a shortcut.
Already publishing with Arvow? Automatic Backlinks is on by default in every project: open the project, click Automatic Backlinks and check that it says Active.
