Privacy Policy — SEO Inspector by Arvow
Last updated: April 6, 2026
This privacy policy describes how the SEO Inspector by Arvow Chrome extension ("the Extension") collects, uses, and stores information.
What data the Extension accesses
Page content (active tab only) When you open the Extension on a webpage, it reads that page's HTML — including title tags, meta descriptions, headings, links, images, and structured data — to perform SEO analysis. This data is processed locally in your browser and is never transmitted to Arvow's servers.
Google Search Console data (optional) If you choose to connect your Google Search Console account, the Extension requests read-only access to your GSC data using the scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/webmasters.readonly. This allows the Extension to display your site's traffic, keyword rankings, and top pages directly in the Extension popup. This data is fetched directly from Google's API to your browser and is not stored on Arvow's servers.
Google Search results pages When you visit Google Search, the Extension injects a SERP analysis panel showing keyword difficulty and whether results are cited in Google's AI Overview. This analysis is performed locally using the page's visible content.
OAuth access token When you connect Google Search Console, an OAuth access token is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API. This token is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to Arvow.
What data we do NOT collect
We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information
We do not track your browsing history
We do not collect the content of pages you visit
We do not sell any data to third parties
We do not use analytics or tracking scripts within the Extension
Third-party services
The Extension communicates with the following third-party services:
Google Search Console API (searchconsole.googleapis.com) — only when you explicitly connect your GSC account, and only to fetch data for your own verified properties
Google APIs (www.googleapis.com) — for OAuth authentication
These services are subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
The Extension may display links to arvow.com. Arvow's website privacy policy applies when you visit arvow.com.
Data storage
All data processed by the Extension is stored locally on your device using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API. This includes:
Your connected GSC site property URL
Your OAuth access token
This data never leaves your device except when making direct API requests to Google's servers on your behalf.
You can remove all stored data at any time by disconnecting GSC within the Extension or by uninstalling the Extension.
